So true!
I came across this rant on another blog and had to re-post it. Photography has become more than a hobby for me, it's become a passion. I feel like I've wasted so much of my life because I've only recently gotten into it. I don't claim I'm professional but I would like to be some day. The more I learn and read, the more I want to get out and take pictures and I honestly can't get enough of it! This is embarrassing to admit but sometimes I'll wake up a night, not being able to go back to sleep, because I'm thinking of techniques to try, angles to explore, and places or people to photograph. So when people give credit to something/someone other than the photographer, it's hard not to take offense. When someone's art isn't fully appreciated, or when they think they could do the same thing without effort, it sucks, but even worse, it hurts. There's a lot more to photography then just having a nice camera or a good-looking model. So read this article and tell me what you think.

Yeah I agree with that ladies article Jenny.
I'd be pissed if someone acknowledged my oven for the great meal they'd eaten and not me.
And it's just a crap oven in a rental!
Imagine what I could do in a 5 star oven that pro's use.................I'm drooling just thinking about it.
I also think people are naturally better than others BUT I think with practice and work people can always become better.
Some people just start off with better raw talent.
Good luck.
that post is so true. i have gotten that one many times, "you have a nice camera." its kind of the same when i do someones hair and someone says, "i like that color or she has good/nice hair." people don't really give us the credit we deserve. urgg.
Hey Jen, this is Jeff. I totally hear you. Instead of photography waking me up in the middle of the night, it is a nice warm banbury cross donut with some ice cold milk.
Totally agree, Jen. I've been using an average camera for a long time and have to work a little harder in editing, in getting the right angles, working in manual modes. When you capture with the camera what you have captured in your mind, it is a big success. . . and it goes so much further than which camera you have...
by the way... thanks for your camera info... now I just have to figure out exactly what step I want to take...
