Carson Quote of the Day

Carson has been obsessed with being "big like Daddy." He's always asking, "When I get bigger, like Daddy, can I..." and "Am I bigger like Daddy?" Well, our friend, Gavin, is over 6 feet tall. I think around 6'3" (so, very tall compared to our 5th percentile family). Carson asked Ryan

Daddy, when you get bigger will you be big like Gavin?

Meet the newest member of our family...

Master Shifu
(or just Shifu for short)

He's our first family pet and Carson couldn't be more excited about him! When we told him that we were going to the store to get a fish he said, "Oh yay! Mmmm, delicious! He will be yummy!" Not quite, Carson. And then when we were at the pet store he said, "I'm so excited! I can't wait to take him home and snuggle with him. Can he sleep with me in my bed?!"
He spent the rest of the day staring at that little fish and then we had to read P.D. Eastman's "A Fish Out of Water" about 20 times and the next morning when he fed Shifu he said, "Just so much, no more than a spot. Or something may happen, you never know what."

Carson Quote of the Day (you might want to skip this one...)

We're trying to get Carson to go to the bathroom when he feels the urge instead of dancing around for an hour. So today this is what he said- Mom, I need to go poop but first I need to pee. Will that make my body not mad anymore?

Just FYI- Ryan is now playing from 2-4 at the Eastside Marketplace. See you there!

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

This Saturday, mark your calendars!

If you've ever wanted to hear Ryan's mad skills on the bass, cello, and accordion, come to Moscow's Young People's Arts Festival this Saturday at the Eastside Marketplace from 2-4.

They've been practicing...

Carson Quote of the Day

Carson was singing this song this morning:

I love the temple,
I love the temple.
In the sun he melted,
In the sun he melted.
I want to eat an apple,
I want to eat an apple.

I think we have a future composer on our hands!

Easter Festivities

We spent Easter at home with just our family. It was the first time that it was just us and no extended family. I felt like a grown up because I had to make the Easter happen! I didn't have a mom to do it for me.

Easter morning: The Loot
I don't have any girls to buy cute little Easter dresses for but the boys did get matching ties (I had to make Reese and Carson's). We all got flipflops and Reese, Carson, and I got coordinating aprons. Oh, and lots of candy!!!

The Hunt

Decorating Easter Eggs

Before and After

They later turned into these... BLT Deviled Eggs! They were awesome! Ryan seriously ate at least a half dozen by himself (don't tell him I told you that!) :) But he wasn't the only one that loved them!

Easter dinner: sun-dried tomato and spinach stuffed pork chops, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, green salad, strawberry jello made with Sprite, and homemade bread. It was a feast and we will probably be eating the leftovers for the next week!

That wasn't all either! On Saturday we watched conference, had homemade clam chowder (made by Tiffany) in bread bowls for lunch with the Girauds and then went over to the Nakayas for dinner! We had a weekend of good friends, good memories, and good food!
