Two Weeks in F.I.R.T.H.

I didn't realize that I had posted this, just meant to save it. So here's some explanation of all the random pictures.

One of my favorite parts of this trip was watching my lil sis dance her lil heart out! She has gotten so good and she is seriously front and center for every dance!
It's funny because Jocelyn is pretty reserved and shy but when she gets on stage, she's totally different. She's got lots of sass and she's not afraid to give it her all! Her team performed a show called Wonderland based off the movie Alice in Wonderland and it was so cool! It was really fun to watch and Jocey got to be the Mad Hatter. She was even in the newspaper for it and on the cover of the program!

Another night they perform all of their competition routines which was really fun to watch! And some of you might recognize this little number...
"crab"...
....I don't want to be a loner, listen to me, OH NO!...
"pop" but with nothin' to consider they forget my name...
...they call me Stacy...
...and then I ran out of room on my memory stick. Dang it. I wish I had a good recording of it too. It's a really fun dance to watch!

Anyway, back to the rest of the trip...
Carson's favorite part of every trip to Firth is riding in the tractors. Every morning he would wake up and ask Grandpa when he could ride in the tractors. This, of course, is a combine for harvesting wheat but it's still fun to ride in. I forgot how big they were!
I think Carson might be afraid of heights because he was pretty nervous climbing the steps and he didn't want to stand and look out the windshield. He asked if he could just sit in the chair with his seatbelt on.

We did some shopping
and found this enormous hat!

Then played on some more tractors.

Where's Reese?

Went shooting and now when Carson plays with toy guns he pretends to shoot "those dang Starlings!"

We went on four-wheeler rides. As you can see, Reese loved it! And Carson is making his 4-wheeler noises, that's why he has a weird look on his face.
Of course, he usually does have a weird look on his face... he's saying "cheese" with the added lisp.

And this is Roxy, Jordan's lab. Both boys loved her but I think Reese and Roxy were kindred spirits.

The day before we headed home, we went to Lava Hot Springs. It was fun! I had only been there once in high school but hopefully we can make another excursion down there when we visit at the end of the summer.

We had great weather the first few days with temps in the 80's but then the rest of the time it was pretty crappy. And I think I must've forgotten how beautifully blue the sky is. I just wanted to take a million pictures on the drive home.
But then we ran into snow...

And that about sums it up! It was interesting going home because I'm looking at it in a different perspective. I haven't lived there for a while and now that I'm getting into photography, I'm looking at things a lot differently. Everything I see I think of different ways to photograph it but I usually get frustrated because I have a really hard time getting what I see in my mind's eye. I guess it's just one of those things, "practice makes perfect." I took a ton of pictures and I'll post more later.

Goin for a walk

A while back we went for a walk through the arboretum...

...and look what we saw... two bunnies!

Ryan took this one of Carson and I just had to post it because it's the typical Carson look.
