Uh, oh!

Look at what I caught this little stinker doing this morning! I'm in for big trouble!!!

The other day, Reese woke up from his nap and I didn't hear him until he was pretty upset and when I walked in the door he gives me this sour face and starts yelling "mumumumaaa." He wasn't too happy that I had forgotten about him!

Reese woke up during the night and I went in to give him his pacifier and I was feeling around his crib for the binky and felt a wad of something. I picked it up and it was his diaper! I felt around again and then found bare buns! I don't know what happened but it's a good thing I went in there or I would've had to be changing sheets instead of just a diaper.
Just as a side note... Ryan was the one who changed his diaper before he went to bed. I think he needs more practice, what do you think?

We love Reese! He is so sweet and happy but he just cannot stand being left behind! He's so motivated to get up and moving because he has to keep up with Carson. Sometimes he gets so frustrated because Carson can just run circles around him. But Carson and Reese have become quite the little buddies lately. It's so stinkin cute!!! All day long I hear Carson saying "Reese follow me! Reese follow the motorcycle! Come and get me Reese! No, Reese, over here!" It's so nice to have them getting along and playing together, for the most part anyway (although when Carson wants to play with his own toy, Reese seems to think that that's the only fun toy in the house). I think Carson gets just as frustrated that Reese can't run around too! It won't be long though! Reese is to that stage where he's into everything and he gets himself into tight situations.

Lately Carson has been the stinker when it comes to bedtime. Reese has been going down so well but Carson cries and yells and jumps around until about 9:30-10:00 until he finally crashes. I figured he must be getting too old for naps since he's staying up so late. I wasn't too upset to take away his naps because it seems I'm waiting for a boy to wake up all day long, Reese takes a nap in the morning and late afternoon and Carson takes one in the afternoon. They just switch off. Anyway, after a few rough days having Carson crash around 5 or 6 and then finding him on the floor like this...

This picture says it all! A passed out toddler amidst chaos!

I decided that he should still probably have at least a little nap.

Carson has now come up with his own language, including swears. He'll start off talking normally and then go off into non-sense words and then laugh at himself saying "is that funny?" But when you get him mad he'll purse up his lips, scrunch his eyebrows and yell "YOU POOTER!!!" Still no idea what it means exactly but can't be good.

I always start off my stories by saying "the other day..." so to mix it up a little bit: A couple of days ago, I dropped Ryan off at school and was driving up the hill to our house. There was a car coming the opposite direction and that's where my attention was when out of the corner of my eye a brown furry something comes darting out into the street. It was so fast that I wasn't sure if I actually saw something until I felt the bump of something being run over. Carson yells "bumpies!" and I look in my rear view mirror to see a poof of fur. At the time I just thought it was a squirrel but later that day when I went walking with a friend I found out it was a bunny! A cute brown bunny! Can you believe that?! Since when do bunnies run around this area of town? I see squirrels all the time but no, I had to hit the only bunny within a mile radius. I'm sure I'm going to get swine flu now from karma.

Future Artist?

A few weeks ago Carson discovered how much he loved watercolors. It's usually a fight to get him to color or draw for more than five minutes but he sat down and painted for a whole hour the first time! And everyday since then he has asked to paint. Unfortunately, I've had to say no or take it away after a couple of minutes because he started drinking the colored water... but good news is that it hasn't killed him yet!

Blueberry Bagels and Strawberry Cream Cheese

Yup, that's what I had for breakfast and I couldn't help but think of the many early morning drill practices, marking each count of eight, in preparation for an upcoming competition. Man, those were the good old days, probably not at the time but now they are. I'm pretty sure I complained a lot, but secretly, I really enjoyed early morning practices. You can't really admit this when you're a teenager but I really do function best when I wake up early. It's during those first few precious hours that I feel most refreshed and optimistic. It was fun to go to school when it was still dark and brag about how many hours you had already been awake before everyone else even thought about going to school. The best time though was after we had finished perfecting the dances that would later win us tons of trophies, ripping chunks of warm fresh blueberry bagel and dunking it into cold strawberry cream cheese washing it down with a carton of orange juice. Can't deny that everytime I bite into a blueberry bagel my mind wanders back to my home girls. And a few years later, here I am, blogging about high school with a baby on my lap, and another in the other room watching Pinocchio, having just sent off my husband to another day of law school. It would be nice to still be in a dance group. I doubt that I ever really had "it" so I can't really say I lost "it" or regret my decision to get married so young or think what could've been. But they're nice memories to look back on and I'm sure in another few years I'll be looking back on today thinking, ya, those were the good old days too.

Look at what I can do!

Reese is all over the place! He's getting fast too. One of his favorite games is to try and chase Roxy, the Boyle's dog, around the house. And now he's climbing up on things. He idolizes Carson and wants to be a big boy just like him. I don't know why he has to be in such a hurry to grow up, I really like this stage!

The Latest

Are you melted yet?

Swimming with the Boyles

Chelsie and I did the blow up thing too but I decided that I didn't want those pictures published.

New buddies

Carson is the funniest kid! He makes me laugh everyday! Sometimes I don't appreciate how smart he really is or the fact that he has a huge vocabulary for his age. So sometimes he catches me off-guard and I really have to be careful what I say and do because he can see right through me! I really have to be creative to stay one step ahead of him, he keeps me running!
Anyway, I've been meaning to right down some funny stories but it's been so long that I've forgotten them and I lost the paper I wrote them down on so here are some from my memory...
* We love edemame in our house. Carson could eat a whole pack by himself. He used to call them green beans and one day I was trying to teach him how to say edemame. He was trying to repeat it and then he looks at me and says "ede-mama?" I thought that was pretty creative but then the next day, Stacy sat down with some edemame and he goes up to her and asks "can I have some ede-stacy?"
* There was a pheasant in the Crandall's backyard and Ryan took Carson out to go chase it down. Ryan was calling it and then Carson started calling it by saying, "Come here, pheasant! I want to give you a kiss!"
* "I have shoes in my rocks!"
* He was riding his four-wheeler one day and said, "Let's get rolling, Amigos!"
* He loves nicknames: Daddy Paddy Boomba-laddy, Mommy Jenny Penny, Reesey-Poo, Jory Bo-Bory, even Carson Bo-Barson. One time he messed up and said Mommy Bo-Jory.
*Oh, my gosh!+Holy Moley!+ "Oh My Moley!"
* Yesterday this was our conversation:
C: Where's Jordan?
J: At Grandma's and Grandpa's far away. Probably in a tractor.
C: Ohhhh! Where's Jocey-Girl?
J: Probably at school.
C: When's Jocey-Girl coming to this house?
Then today I came downstairs and Carson was sitting on the couch. I asked him what he was doing. "My bear is in my truck. He going to go for a long drive to Grandma's and Grandpa's to see Jocey-Girl. He'll be back in a sec. Oh, look! Bear's back!" Jocey- HE OBVIOUSLY MISSES YOU!!! Come and visit!

They're wearing their matching monster truck shirts so that's where
the band name comes from. In case you were wondering.
