Dates
We've started taking the boys out on dates. It used to be father and son type dates but then I started feeling left out because I wanted to go out with my boys and husband so we decided to just go out all together. Reese chose to go to Applebee's and Carson just wanted to go get ice cream but I talked him into go to Texas Roadhouse. Then we took both boys to the cheap theaters for Monsters University. I think Ryan laughed harder then both boys out together! It was a really cute show though! Looking forward to more dates with my boys!
Giggling Gwen
So close!
I love getting to spend some one on one time with this girlie while the boys are at school!!
Maroon 5
So Jessica Bentley posted on Facebook that she wanted to go to see the Maroon 5/Kelly Clarkson concert at the Gorge and wondered if anyone wanted to go with her. So I talked it over with Ry and he said I could go. We got tickets and then Jacklyn Adams said that she wanted to go so she got a ticket too. The morning of the concert was spent at soccer games in the pouring rain. I almost cancelled after that morning. But we headed out around 2:00, stopped in Spokane Valley to do some shopping, drove to Moses Lake and had some dinner since we had time to kill and Jaclyn's friends were saving us seats. We got there right after the opening act finished but they had just announced that they were going to wait for the wind gusts to die down before starting the concert. So we went and bought some tshirts and waited for about 2 hours before Adam Levine got up and told us the concert was cancelled because of the weather. It was barley sprinkling. It was nothing compared to that morning at the soccer fields! So we packed up and headed to the car. It was chaos!! It was total gridlock and there were cars everywhere at a stand still. We could not find the row where my car was parked because most of the signs had blown off the light posts. We walked around for another two hours before we found our car but then we were out of the parking lot in 15 minutes. It turned out to be a good thing because we got home around 2 in the morning and if there would have been a concert we probably wouldn't have gotten home until the next morning and I had to teach the 5th Sunday lesson. Still had a good time but I'm not sure if I'll be going back to the Gorge any time soon.
Soccer
IOnce again we've been roped into doing soccer with Ryan coaching both Carson and Reese's teams. I will admit that it is getting more fun to watch now that they're getting better.

Carson quote of the day
After an hour if trying to convince Carson to eat his ravioli, he finally gave in and his response was, "Never misjudge ravioli."

Giggling Gwen
This cutie pie is not a fan of breakfast food. She'll eat pancakes and waffles occasionally but every morning when we ask her what she wants for breakfast she always tell us things like chicken nuggets or corn dogs. I'm pretty sure if she was my first I'd be a little concerned. I'd probably try and make her eat breakfast food but since she's my third.... Chicken nuggets it is!

Reese recited
Yesterday I was passing out bowls of cereal for breakfast and I dropped one.
"Was that a damnit try, Mom?"
If nothing else, at least I'm teaching them the proper swears.
This morning was Gwen's birthday. Reese bought her some bubbles and opened them for her. Of course the whole bottle ended up all over the carpet. I had lost my patience cleaning up spills (note the morning before). I was grumbling under my breath and Reese apologizes for spilling the bubbles so I gave him a hug a said that I was just frustrated with cleaning up all the spills. He apologized to Gwen for ruining her present and then he said, "I just can't get my bubbles under control." He has the sweetest soul.

Carson quotes of the day
We had spaghetti for dinner...
Oh, for goodness sake! Gwen is a saucy woman!
Gwen is crying like a volcano! She's waking me up!

Reese recited
Why don't you go downstairs and play. Go play with blocks. Build a castle out of blocks or something.
"I can't. I need help. I don't have my smart mode turned on."

Reese recited
"I think I heard something. I think it was grandma Connie."
"No, I don't think so. It must have been something else."
"It must have been the Holy Ghost."

Love Notes
I just realized I never finished posting this one...
We told Carson that we were going to skpe Kyle and Emily later that night. He went and got a piece of paper and asked how to write "awesome head." Totally his idea! He wanted to write them a note to show them on skype.
There's this girl in his primary class that I guess a lot of the boys have crushes on. Carson is not the exception. We went to their house for dinner and when he went home is was nonstop "can Kelsi come over and play, can Kelsi come over and play?" It was a couple of days later before she was actually able to come over but they played like they were married. Which, if you know Carson, is completely not like him. Red flag #1.Then the second she left he ran and got a piece of paper and wrote this love note... "This is for you Kelsi." It's pictures of them playing together. Carson hates drawing/coloring. It's a fight trying to get him to do anything like that I think maybe because he's a little ambidextrous and it's confusing to figure out which hand to use let alone how to use it. But for him to actually want to draw something for someone is huge. Red flag #2. I think this boy has a crush!
This is the school picture they took at the beginning of the year. He's so cute. :)

Reese the skier
Reese tried skiing for the first time this year. He did about as well as you could expect from a three year old. I doubt he'll be as obsessed with it as Carson and Ryan are. He seemed to have just as much fun hanging out in the loft as he did out on the mountain but he might just need to grow into it a little bit more.
Gwen is our little spit fire. She's so dang cute and she's got soooo much personality! She's really loving babies and dolls and she'll ask us to pretend that she's a baby. "Baby Gwen. Baby Gwen." She's just so dang smart too! She already knows all the colors and she loves to draw. My mom always said to pray that your kids are dumb and ugly because the cute and smart ones are trouble. I guess I'm in over my head!
Winters are tough in north Idaho. Literally half the year is snowy and rainy so any time the sun comes out you have to take advantage of it. And yesterday we did! Even though I was emotionally and physically exhausted from the last week of Reese recovering from his tonsillectomy, it was so refreshing to get out in the sun if only for a few minutes. I don't know if its because I'm getting older and I'm just really learning myself and my body or if this is a new development in progress but I definitely get seasonal affective disorder. I wonder if the big "d" (depression) word is just going to be a part of my life and maybe I should just accept it instead of fighting against it. Wow. Just realized that this post took a completely different turn then what I had originally planned. I think I'll keep it though. Not to get attention or sympathy but because sometimes its good to look back on challenges. And if nothing else, when my kids look back maybe they'll be able to see themselves in me and my battles and be able to figure things out through my experiences. At least that can be my hope. Just keeping it real.
What I was going to say for this picture was...
Great day yesterday! The sun finally to decided to come out so we drugged up Reese and headed out on the bikes! Fun times!! :)

Reese recited
Reese got his tonsils out on Monday. He did really well at first but then once the scabs started coming off he was in a lot of pain. I called the doctor tonight and he got him a prescription for hydrocodone. He's finally able to eat and drink. Such a relief!! As he was eating I asked, "are you doing alright, Reese?" He responded, "No, I'm not doing alright. I'm doing super alright!"

C: I'm changing into my pajamas but u don't want anyone to see my nipples.
R: I don't have any nipples.
Me: Yes you do. You have two of them.
C: Everybody has nipples.
R: Oh are these my nipples?
Me: Yup.
R: Do you have nipples? Are these your nipples?
Me: Yup but you don't touch girls nipples.
C: That's because they're big nipples.
R: Yup
C: They're big milk feeding nipples.
R: I don't have any nipples.

Dinner conversation
C: I'm going to tell you a joke. Why did the cheeze-it go to the mall?
Ryan: I have no idea. To get baked? ;)
C: No. To get toilet paper. I have another joke. Why did the cheeze-it go to the mall again? To get a toilet!
Reese: I was going to say that!
C: He got a toilet and toilet paper at the mall!
J: Toilet paper sold separately. Next time we buy a toilet we should ask them if it comes with any toilet paper!
Genius! No wonder we don't have people over for dinner!
