Constructive Criticism

I love photography. I spend most of my free time looking at photography blogs. This summer I really got into it because the Crandalls got a Cannon Rebel and I got the chance to play with all the tricks of a good camera. And that made me love photography even more. I'm not trying to start a business or anything, more just expounding on a talent. But I do want to know how I can improve. Let me know what you think! P.S. None of the pictures have been photoshopped FYI.

Having cute and wonderful subjects is a must.
I think you have that for sure.
Good luck man.

It is ADDICTING! :) I agree about the adorable subjects. And having a great camera. Natural lighting is great, so getting outside is good. The best time of day is a hour before sunset. I think lighting is the trickiest part. Indoors, turn off your flash and take in a well-lit room (not direct sunlight). I think it is a great hobby for a mom, cause good or bad, you'll have LOTS of pictures for your kids to remember their childhood!

I know you said these hadn't been photoshopped, but have you used photoshop. It is a WHOLE new world! And also VERY addicting! :)

Jen! They look WONDERFUL!! My favorites are the last one with Carson eating the watermelon, the drool one of Reese and then I really like the one with the watermelon on the table, but what about putting one of the leftover watermelon up?! I also like the action shot of Carson running through the field. I like how you get down on their level to take the picture. Try getting down further and looking up to their level and let see what happens!! I so LOVE your new hobby!!!! Keep the pix coming please!!
