Maui 2016- our first family vacation!!

Getting ready for a 6 hour flight. 

One of Reese's soccer teammate's dad flew our plane to Seattle so he invited us to checkout the cockpit. 

Gwen slept pretty much the entire flight. Reese and Carson slept a good amount. But Jett was an absolute terror. Way worse than Ryan and I anticipated. Luckily we had great flight attendants and they gave us free meals and iPads. That first morning we woke up in Hawaii I thought we were going to have to go to the ER though. Gwen woke up burning hot, dry as a bone, and delirious. She ended up throwing up too. She had heat stroke be dehyration. We managed to get some Gatorade and water down her and she perked up pretty quick. Then we headed to Baby Beach. 

Then we went to Walmart and Costco and got lunch and groceries. Then headed to 

Where we saw our first of many sea turtles. 

Carson was in his element. 

Next morning

Then we had our first Ukulani's shave ice. 

Next morning we drove the opposite direction and it felt like we entered another planet. Super cool, very recent lava flows. 

Then on to another beach

Another day, another beach 

Ryan totally ripped a hole in the crotch of his brand new boards shorts so Joce and I took the littles and went back to Lahina to buy him a swimsuit while he took the older two snorkeling. 

Next morning

We spent a lot of this vacation in the car unfortunately. We saw a lot of the island which was great but we didn't have the best weather so we spent a lot of time chasing the sun and trying to find a dry beach. 

This night was our luau. Worth every penny!! Great perforners, great food, and the kids loved it- especially Jett!!

Reese and Gwen went onstage and learned the hula. 

Milo and Clara come to visit

Carson was such a great helper when we watched Milo and Clara while Kyle and Emily went to Hawaii with Jeff and Julie. He was loving on little Clara, always trying to get her to sit on his lap.
